Miami Murals

Miami Murals, Wynwood Walls, Joyride

The Wynwood Walls is an area in Miami that features giant, colorful murals, street art and graffiti painted by artists from around the globe. What started out as a photo stop on our way to the Everglades, turned into a 5-hour trip highlight.

We arrived Miami excited to get to our campground at Everglades National Park. Both my partner and I love seeing and photographing street murals and street art. I had done a little research and found out about Wynwood Walls in Miami. I thought, what a great surprise it would be to make a little pit-stop there on our way to the Everglades. Well, that little pit-stop became a 5-hour photography, walking and eating excursion that became a trip highlight!

The Wynwood Walls is an area in Miami that features giant, colorful murals, street art and graffiti painted by artists from around the globe. The Wynwood Walls was conceived in 2009 by Tony Goldman. He sought to revitalize this warehouse area into a pedestrian art mecca. Since its inception, the Wynwood Walls program has seen over 50 artists, representing 16 countries, and have covered over 80,000 square feet of walls.
